My bro fixed me up by giving me the number of a chickee he works with - called her and asked out - to the gun range then lunch today (Labor day). She said sounds great, and we did have a really good time. We shot:

-Springfield/Ciener .22lr, adjustable sights, Wolff ammo
-Savage 93R17 with Bushnell Scopechief 6-20x40, Hornady Varminter ammo
-Springfield/Mec-Tech carbine .45acp, with BSA 1x red dot, various ammo.
-Springfield V16 longslide, .45acp
-My new Swiss K-31 (snagged one of these Saturday after reading recent threads here on THR), 7.5x55 Swiss, stock iron sights. Hornady 165gr ammo. This is one sweet puppy!
-My bro's Glock 29 in 10mm, 180 grain FMJ gunshow reloads

The date was cool, too. ;) She liked everything, and her favorite was the 17HMR (of course). She declined to shoot the K31 however. She says she had a hoot too. Talk about a good start to a relationship! :)

Ahhhh, a woman who likes to go shooting. Sounds like a good woman. Your brother has good taste in women to set you up with. Now call him and say thanks.

Now that's my kind of young & nubile.

Word to the wise: don't address her as "chickee.":p :D

My wife and I's first date was to the local indoor range. I was impressed when she showed up with a SIG 220, in 9mm! All I had at the time was an inaccurate S&W 9mm, and a nice Springfield Ultra Compact in 45.

After seeing the rest of her gun collection I decided she was probably a keeper!

It's been almost 5 years, 2 kids and a whole lot of guns later and I could not have chosen better.

Even if it doesn't pan out, at least you've got a pro Second Amendment convert. Kudos.

Hee, thanks guys. Yeah, exactly, it's a good thing even if it doesn't work out - we'll see - we have agreed on a second date, so..... Well, she says that she OWNS a .38 revolver, but that she has not been shooting since she was 11 or 12 (of course the implication is that she has never shot her only self defense gun :( ). Funny that she described using what sounds like .22 flechette ammo perhaps (she said "darts") at that time with some older relatives. Weird. Damn, too bad she didn't show up with a Sig 220 - She'd have definitely been a keeper then. :D Still, she commented several times how much she enjoyed it, and she listened carefully to everything I said and obeyed all range safety rules to the letter after being told just once - kinda impressive, actually. My .22lr is at the gunsmith, getting the stock re-finished, so unfortunately, I didn't have a .22 fun rifle, but the .17 kinda served as a proxy in that role, and she did very well with it. In fact, one of her shots at 50 yards with the 17 literally knocked about 2/3rds out of the tiny number "10"; which the number serves as the bullseye itself on those "Shoot-N-Cs". I'm gonna have to make it a habit to make all my first dates to the range, if this doesn't work out - this will separate the wheat from the chaff right off the bat. Now, if could just arrange to have the second date at some kind of cook-off competition, to see if the "prospect" is just as handy in the kitchen.... :D Oh yeah, I did thank my brother a couple of times! BTW, this gal has 2 dogs and 3 cats - finally, an animal lover like myself. Good mojo here. And I know not to call her chick - I'm not *quite* that clueless, but when she's not around, what was good enough for the Fonz is good enough for me, and he called chicks chicks alla time. :)

M67, I've heard the same thing. The big boys told me, and they sure know what they're talkin'bout. :scrutiny:

Good luck on you, Futo Inu! For me the thing with my soon-to-be-wife was that she also does karate. When I first heard that, I knew I had to ask her for a date... after which it sure was certain that she's a keeper. Now we give each other heck weekly at the dojo - immaculate.

I wish I could go on a date.

"Oh, you're so sweet, let's just be friends." :banghead:

LOL

Nah, it's alright. I'm enjoying the swinging single college guy life. No really, I am! Shut up! Stop snickering! I went on a date once...okay, not THIS calender year, but I have!

On our first dates hubby and I went to the farm and shot clays. Forty-seven years later we are still shooting and hunting together, sometimes with our grandchildren. A family that shoots together stays together and has a lot of fun.
