Name them. The ugliest FACTORY rifle, pistol, & shotgun.

August 12, 2008, 11:37 PM
Nothing bubbafied. The guns that came from the factory lacking all aesthetic properties.

I'll start the list off.

Rifle: French Berthier (Think Mosin Nagant but uglier)
Pistol: Hi Point 9mm comp (The Liberator gets a free pass from me on this one)
Shotgun: Mossberg 695 (Something about bolt-shotguns seriously displease me)

hmmm off the top of my head....Mossberg bullpup shotgun, steyr 9mm pistol, and that new .223 Beretta assault rifle.

August 13, 2008, 12:02 AM
Swiss Vetterli for long gun

Mac-10 family for handguns

Lujitc monogun for shot gun

August 13, 2008, 12:06 AM
Too bad Hi-Point doesn't make a shotgun. They could pull off a complete ugly gun trifecta.

August 13, 2008, 12:10 AM
Ugly, but in a good way?

How about the new kriss super V

August 13, 2008, 12:11 AM
Hey you heathens. My Hi-Point may not look good in a prom dress, but she can do everything that needs doin'.

Ugly? Rifle... SKS with Bubba treatment. Pistol... Glock (all of um). Shotty... I'll say it. I ain't scared. Humpback (Browning A-5).

August 13, 2008, 12:29 AM
Rifle: tie between FAMAS and Steyr AUG. I know some people think they're sweet, and I'm sure they are functionally fine rifles, but I find something innately unattractive about bullpups.

Shotgun: anything done in camo pattern. Again, YMMV.

Pistol: Ruger P-series. Gotta case of the fug.

edit: are we limiting this to "reputable" manufacturers only? Otherwise the pot metal garbage guns will sweep the pistol category

Too bad Hi-Point doesn't make a shotgun. They could pull off a complete ugly gun trifecta.

Hahahahha, that's the best one I've heard all day.

Maybe the High Point shotgun could have a plastic heatshield with batman style wing accents?

+1 on the Glocks.

August 13, 2008, 07:35 PM
Colt Double Beagle*
Browning A5

You know what I mean. :)

August 13, 2008, 07:41 PM
Anything made by Lorcin or Jennings. There's nothing uglier than unreliability.

August 13, 2008, 08:05 PM
Savage 99 lever... great rifle, but it sho is ugly.

August 13, 2008, 08:53 PM
It would be a tough competetion between anything from Hi-Point and the Steyr 9mm:barf:

August 13, 2008, 09:08 PM
Swiss Vetterli ! ! !

That's the one! I was thinking it was French!

Actually I think they were Italian made.

Webley revolver!!!!!!

'Fraid I'd have to disagree.

August 13, 2008, 10:51 PM
I don't exactly think it is ugly, but the MAG 7 sure looks odd to my eye. However, it DOES work pretty well.

Savage Shooter
August 14, 2008, 12:07 AM
rifle- tie between the savage 99 and the 110(the ugly duckling) yes I realise what i'm saying :D I choose function over looks.
shotgun- probably one most people have never heard of marlin goose gun its a beast.
pistol- mac 10 hate them things

August 14, 2008, 11:29 AM
Rifle= Highpoint Carbine
Pistol= Nagant
Most shotguns look similar enough to make that a hard question for me.

August 14, 2008, 11:31 AM

Yep, the Savage110 my not look great but at almost half the cost of some of the (snobby) guns it can shoot with all of them. The guy next to me may have a rem., win. or whatever, but if you can't shoot it well it doesn't matter how much you spend.

The rest of the posters:

As for the Hi-point, mine will hit what I'm aiming at. Yep, ugly to but it performs and if it breaks I can get it fixed for no more than shipping cost. Bash them if you want but they work. They are heavy to.

Both are not good looking guns but if the BG is looking at the muzzle end do you think he cares how it looks?

August 14, 2008, 11:36 AM
Gold medal, Webly revolvers all of them

Silver Webly semiautos, all of them

Bronze Enfield .38 top break

What was it w/ english handguns in the 20th century?

I mean all those artwork deuling pistols and a century of sorry handguns urk.

August 14, 2008, 11:53 AM
Here are my votes.

Handgun- two way tie

Hi Point

SuperNova with desert cammo. I like the Nova/supernova shotgun, but this thing is just too ugly for it's own good.

Rifle- Two way tie

Hi point

August 14, 2008, 12:04 PM
Firearms are like women, all are good looking, just some more than others!

August 14, 2008, 12:14 PM
Ok, here's some pretty ugly stuff.

Rifle: Bullpup (yeah, I know some people like 'em, but to me.... :barf:)

Pistol: Hard to beat the Liberator for pure ugliness.......

Shotgun: This is a Czechoslovak 5 barrel monstrosity (sorry, I cheated on this one. I think it must have been home built by a plumber gone crazy)

August 14, 2008, 12:24 PM
I wouldn't say Glocks are the most ugly handguns in the world, but they're definately close. What anoys me about them is that they're also one of the most popular pistols. Don't people care about aesthetics?

August 14, 2008, 02:59 PM
The Dardick Pistol is not terribly attractive.

August 14, 2008, 03:05 PM
This one is a good reminder of the words of wisdom - "Just 'cause you can, doesn't mean you should."

Good lord. I don't know how long I can even look at the thing!

Th Glock and the HK P7.

August 14, 2008, 04:47 PM

Beretta UGB25 Xcel. It's even got the UG in UGly built in.

Only $3500.

August 14, 2008, 04:50 PM
The UGLY ones belong to someone else. Mine are absolutely beautiful!!!!!

August 14, 2008, 05:32 PM
Lee Enfield? Webley? Owen Gun?

You've gotta be kiddin' me, they're all absolutely beautiful.

Ugly guns, well that's easy Garand and 1911 Colt:neener::neener:

August 14, 2008, 06:55 PM
Handgun: HK VP70Z is UGLY with a capital UGH!
If you've never seen one, consider yourself lucky.

August 14, 2008, 07:37 PM
I'd go with the Nagant revolver. It kinda looks like Webeley's retarded cousin. I may still buy one someday though :o

August 14, 2008, 08:05 PM
Early Astra pistols. By way of example...

August 14, 2008, 08:19 PM
The Walther G22 is just hideous.

Old Navy
August 14, 2008, 08:26 PM
Damn!, with all the people on here saying Glocks are ugly I guess I'll have to sell mine. I guess if a bad guy sees an ugly gun he'll get meaner. Accuracy, weight, durability and about 40,000 cops swearing by them trumps ugly every time.

August 14, 2008, 08:27 PM
Nambu pistol:

August 14, 2008, 08:31 PM
And the type 94. The Japanese must have made Ugly a design requirement on their pistols. The ability to accidentally discharge when bumped and shoot the owner was just a plus.

August 14, 2008, 08:31 PM
Some non fullsize 1911s look lame to me.

August 14, 2008, 08:33 PM

Yes I do

August 15, 2008, 12:45 AM
Marlin Goose gun (sgn) any glock(pistol) and the Uzi carbine(rifle)

August 15, 2008, 12:59 AM
Any French military rifle made since 1870, or Bullpup rifle
Any Glock or Hi Point pistol, the Nambu or for that matter most early automatics
Can't think of a ugly shotgun or a revolver

August 15, 2008, 01:16 AM
remington 870s
Marlin lever actions
Browning Hi power

all ugly...

in fact if you own any of those ugly guns I'll gladly take them off your hands and hide them in my closet for you.

August 15, 2008, 01:27 AM
Handgun: HK VP70Z is UGLY with a capital UGH!
If you've never seen one, consider yourself lucky.

Prepare to get unlucky! I don't know, in a way I think the VP70 is a pretty cool looking pistol. It has that scifi/futurist look that was popular in the 70s. Yet 5 minutes later I can look at it and agree it is hideous.

The conflicting feelings it causes just makes me want one. Hmm....I guess the previous poster was right, guns really are like women!

August 15, 2008, 01:32 AM
Pistol, Toss up between these
Goncz GA-9

***. Are you SERIOUS? Do you think an AK or an AR is the height of beauty?! :scrutiny:

It's Victorian and beautiful.

August 15, 2008, 01:57 AM
Hi Point pistols:

Always looked a bit hydrocephalic to me.................

August 15, 2008, 03:48 AM
Anything Hi-Point, whether it be rifle or handgun:barf::barf: They may work well for some but I could never own one due to their pure ugliness.

August 15, 2008, 10:36 AM
French Berthier (Think Mosin Nagant but uglier)
Actually, the original three shot guns were quite elegant. They didn't actually get ugly until they added the external magazine box to make it usable in combat.

August 15, 2008, 11:37 AM
Anything engraved or with tac rails.
Ruger Autos
Steyr 9mm

Ooh! #300...yay.

August 23, 2008, 11:16 PM
I'd have to say the Hi Point guns

larry starling
August 24, 2008, 04:54 AM
ADD another vote for Hi-points.....Rifles and Pistol's.:barf:

August 24, 2008, 05:55 AM (

I would say the ugliest FAMILY of guns ever were the Gyrojets. ( :banghead:

August 24, 2008, 06:24 AM
HEY, most of those pictured, I like!

August 24, 2008, 12:49 PM
Pistol wise I have to say a Browning Hi Power I can't stand the way they look.

Rifle I am not sure what it is called but there was a rifle at a local gun shop the other day with a Side mounted T shaped bolt handle. It pulled strait back instead of being rotated up and back. Sorry I can't give a better description. I seem to remember it being chambered in 7.5Xsomething

Dr. Tad Hussein Winslow
August 24, 2008, 01:12 PM
I'm gonna say:

Rifle: Kriss Super V

Pistol: Jap Nambu 94, or Hi-Point

Shotgun: That "Mag 7" shotgun posted by Zedicus - man oh man that thing is FUGLY!

Too bad Hi-Point doesn't make a shotgun. They could pull off a complete ugly gun trifecta.

August 24, 2008, 04:03 PM
PTK seems to be the only one who mentioned it... but I remember thinking the M16/AR15 was pretty stupid looking the first time I saw one.

My Hi-Point may not look good in a prom dress, but she can do everything that needs doin'.

Maybe.. but I want one I can take out in public, not just under the bleachers.

August 24, 2008, 04:06 PM
i wonder if them being ugly has anything do do with my they are not used. I mean even if a gun is ugly if it were a good gun with great accuracy and easy to use. you think that it would be used more even if it was ugly.

August 24, 2008, 09:26 PM
Interesting list(s) but the bottom line...

When you have something mean and angry coming at with evil in it's heart and absolutely no concern with your well being in it's mind. The 'ugliest' weapon in the world would look beautiful after it stopped the threat.

August 24, 2008, 10:43 PM
I'm terribly sorry, but I believe this trumps all.

August 24, 2008, 10:45 PM
Point, Set, Match!

August 24, 2008, 10:50 PM

August 24, 2008, 11:06 PM
*** is that Woodfiend? It looks like a fish that was rear ended by an AK-47.

August 25, 2008, 12:22 AM

What in Great Caesar's Ghost is that monstrosity!?!

It's like a car crash! I can't stop looking at the vileness!!!

August 25, 2008, 12:46 AM
That thing is hideous!

...I want it

August 25, 2008, 12:59 AM
I like it.

August 25, 2008, 01:36 AM
That would be The Korobov TKB-022 Assault Rifle. So you were close with the rear ended AK, made in (Russia/USSR) But was an experimental that never made it.

Dain Bramage
August 25, 2008, 10:21 AM
That would be The Korobov TKB-022 Assault Rifle.

Also known as the "eeevil red assault rifle".

Dr. Tad Hussein Winslow
August 25, 2008, 10:25 AM
Ummm, that thing posted by woodfiend cannot possibly work (unless I've lost my mind). The mag is so far back that there's no room for the bolt to go "behind" the rounds in the mag to strip one off. Must be a movie prop. Definitely fug-trugly though.

August 25, 2008, 10:27 AM
Wow. The rifle category may have a winner.

I honestly didn't expect this thread to last this long. And no real bickering!

Thinking more on this, the Skorpion pistols are pretty ugly.

August 25, 2008, 10:34 AM
That thing is beyond hideous, it is monstrosity of the first order. I never I would want to see a gun turned into scrap metal before. But, there's a first one everything.
