It seems that there is a "no fly" list the government has that has the name "David Nelson" on it. If your name is David Nelson you WILL be stopped, searched, and delayed from getting on your flight. They will make you take off your shoes, search your pockets and luggage, and even count the amount of money you are carrying. These are some of the things that have befallen various "David Nelsons".

Urban legend? Nope.

And here's a little humor on the subject (http://www.bobpayne.com/David%20Nelsons.htm)

Need I go on?

So if anyone on this board is named David Nelson ... be prepared. Carry a tube of K-Y.

Or any one of the approx 300 other names on the no fly list.

Sheesh.

David Nelson is a more common name than most on the no fly list. I went to highschool with a guy by that name.

The public looks at situations like this, and just wonders..."Why can't someone in the system just apply a little common sense?"

But think about it...

Doesn't this situation fit EXACTLY the model put forth by many of the conspiracy mongers? Specifically, in the face of a terrorist threat, officials respond with a meaningless (in terms of real security) but high profile, intrusive, invasive INTERRIM program; nobody in the system can use common sense (they're probably penalized if they try to do so). "David Nelsons" (suprisingly common name, eh?) all over the country are needlessly harassed for months and years; teenage kids get felony charges for dumb notes in their own luggage; millions of nail clippers confiscated; nubile girls' underwear checked; octagenarians searched.

All this is just a prelude to the main intent: Make the INTERRIM plan as painful as possible, so the public willingly submits to all the rights-robbing provisions of CAPPSII; or whatever subroutine of the Patriot Act .gov chooses to serve up. Yeah, that's it... and CAPPSII will be accepted VOLUNTARILY by the public! Heck, they'll probably line up to put their name on the list!

I hate to say this but it seems like the Alex Jones's of the world have spotted this one from a mile away.

Thats the only logical explanation I can come up with.
