Lockless M&P 9c

I just bought a M&P compact 9mm today. It has the internal lock whole, the little arrow pointing to lock but, in contrast to other S&W ILs I've seen, there is no keyhole...the lock is filled with a solid metal pin. There was no key in the box either and if the thing does have a lock, it is in an unlocked state.
All the M&Ps at this gunshop are like that. What have I got here? The lockless deal was the clincher for me on this so I don't want a lock.

sounds like the one i have
it is the filled hole where the lock would be if it
had one
so....not to worry
no lock
i am guessing they use the same piece for either model
ps...you will like it....shoots good and pretty small, although kinda thick

I got the same thing.
I think S&W uses the same frame.
The models w/ lock are fitted w/ lock and internal block.
The models w/o lock are fitted w/ that plug.
I imagine it is a cost saving measure.
There are actually 4+ models of each M&P
109004: 10 Rd, Mag Safety, Int Lock, Std Sights, 2 Mags
209204: 12 Rd, Mag Safety, Std Sights, 2 Mags
109234: 10 Rd, Mag Safety, 10 lb Trig., Std Sights, 2 Mags
209304: 12 Rd, Std Sights, 2 Mags
I am sure they ALL use same frame.

Great...I been looking at this little guy for two months and today was the day. As I said, the "no-lock" thing was the clincher.
