What Should I Do?

While cleaning up and going through some boxes of old paperwork, I came across two letters from DC on official White House stationary (crappy pastel light green). I took many many opportunities to write Billery Klinton to express my concerns with his/her despotic anti gun agenda during the 90s. On two separate occasions, May ’94 and
Aug. ’94, I was surprised (and a little worried) to find letters addressed to me from

THE WHITE HOUSE
WASHINGTON :what:

Inside are identical cookie cutter letters that read as follows:

Dear Richard:

Thank you for your thoughtful letter. I appreciate
your interest in the many complex issues facing our
nation. To find solutions to all the challenges we face,
I welcome the thoughts and ideas of all Americans who
care about our future.

I’m glad you took the time to write, and I hope that
you will stay involved.

Sincerely

So I’m getting rid of the crap in my life, but these are to me from the POTUS, but the POTUS was Klinton, but there on official White House stationary with water marks, but there from Klinton, woven linen, Bill Klinton…

What would you do? Through them out or keep them as mementoes?

The hunting shack or gun range can always use TP supplies... :D

Check for stains - then they might be worth something. (Presidue?)

Two identical letters... that should give you some idea of their worth.

They are from the POTUS, they are addressed to you... I'd say keep em, tuck em in a family bible or something for your great great grandkids to find someday... That was just before the 94 campaign that brought about a change in the House/Senate to a Republican majority... due to... people like you. Worthy of keeping just for that sake I'd opine.

and I'd take his advice... stay involved!

Adios

edited to add... you might want to write to each subsequent POTUS and keep any other letters (form or otherwise) with 1600 Penn. as the return address...

Do it.. For the Children :D

Ah, yes. The light green letter. That is the color you would (will) get when you are in disagreement with the White House.

When you are in agreement with them, the letter comes on a french vanilla woven linen paper.

I have some of each.

The greatest letters I have are not from the White House, however. They are from the West German and Israeli Embassies in response to my condolences after the Munich Olympics.

What good are they? Do you think slick actually wrote them or read your letter? Toss 'em. Don't be a packrat.

Keep 'em.

Do your best to raise their value to your decendents...not based on their coming from a sleazeball like Clinton, but because they went to you.

You may not succeed. But it's worth a try.

I wouldn't have them in the house; wouldn't have cockroaches, either.

It's not like official government documents in which Bill Clinton lied are ever going be rare or anything.

I have a very nice one from Laura Bush after I wrote her to ignore the "poets" who dissed her poetry symposium because of the Iraq war. I shall treasure it. A fine lady indeed.
