Does the shotgun rib color make a difference?

I'm looking to get my shotgun coated in Coyote Tan. I chose the color so I can tell the difference between my shotgun and everyone else's but it won't stick out in the marsh. Then I got to thinking about how this color would affect my shooting. I've only shot shotguns that are matte black. Would having another color make it more difficult to shoot?

not likely, but it could make it heat up less if left out in the sun

Why can't you leave the rib uncoated? Seems to me that tan would be of less contrast and/or distracting.

Thought about simply wrapping some colored tape around the barrel or the stock? Quick and cheap, if all you want to do is give your shotgun an easily-distinguishable marking.
