I just don't care if Baghdad becomes a new Sodom!

I say come in from the South and the North at the same time with heavy armor followed immediately by truck loads of food, water and medicine to be given out freely to the Iraquis. Let the word get out so that the by the time your forces meet at Baghdad, they will surrender in droves or even have knocked off Hussein for us so that we don't have to go house to house looking for him. This tactic might also scare the North Korean government. How would the control their own people with the "threat" of the US giving out as much food as they could eat?

War could be brief, planners say
Jan. 14 — An attack on Iraq would begin with an intense salvo of airstrikes on “leadership” targets in and around Baghdad, followed quickly by a ground war in the hopes that the worst of the fighting would be over in two to three weeks, war planners at the Pentagon have revealed to NBC News.

I think that we have three main goals to accomplish when we attack:
1.) Kill Saddam and his cronies;
2.) Take control of the oil fields to avoid the burning ala Kuwait, and;
3.) Prevent any N-B-C attacks against allied troops and Israel.
All of this is to be done while trying to prevent friendly casualties and collateral damage.
So how to do it????
As I'm nothing but a desk jockey I have no true knowledge, but I'd guess that the Scud launch areas would need to be controlled by land and by air. Same for the oil fields. As for sending Saddam to hell, where he so richly belongs, I guess the trick would be to try to turn some of his insiders to give him up or take him out.
All I can do is to always be grateful for those who will be in harm's way on our behalf and to pray for their safety and success.
