how long does it usually take to get a gun fixed with them?

A lot of people say a REALLY long time. They have an unlimited lifetime warranty though soooooooo you should get it back eventually.

I once was planning on sending a gun to them for repair, but after the not so very hospitable customer service, coupled with it may take 6-8 weeks and you'll have to pay the shipping both ways, I decided a trip to the local smith would be cheaper and faster.

Some people have reported them simply shipping the broken gun back claiming there was no problem with it.

I'm planning to send in a revolver.

Called their customer service, they said approx. 4 week turn-around.

Wife checked on shipping charges via UPS; about $100.00 to get it to Taurus. Don't know about return shipping charges.

Since it's just a slightly bent ejector, I may buy the part and install it myself.

I had a problem with a Thunderbolt, and had to send it back twice (2 different problems). I asked for and received a prepaid shipping label both times. Customer service wasn't wht you'd call overly cheerful, but they weren't impolite either.
On the whole I was fairly satisfied with the treatment I got.

9 weeks. C.S. rep was a jerk on the phone. They only sort of fixed it. I got rid of the gun.

You might want to do a search on Taurus customer service.
It seems the product is not bad, unless you get a bad one, then you could have an issue with customer service.

And I will most likely be called a gun snob for pointing that out. Taurus has some detractors, but it has some real diehard fans as well.

Your experience may vary.

My experience with Taurus has been positive. I've sent 2 revolvers back..took 3-4 weeks each. However, this was 1998-2000.
In fact, the 3-4 week turnaround was substantially less then my buddie's 8 month wait on his Springfield 1911.
Both revolvers (a Model 85 Ultralight and a Model 669 .357 Magnum) were fixed. The 669 is gone (sold to finance a Taurus Tracker), but I still have (and carry) the 85.
