im about to order a holster i have a a few already, but i want a good drop leg holster for when when i find it fit to use wich is alot more than my IWB
anyone have any experience with the serpa level 2 tactical holsters? my questions are are they sturdy will they break if i fall on it?
and also what about the OMEGA VI elite holsters? how are these in comparison im wondering if the omega is sturdier because it is made from material not a plastic?

Question...Where would you wear one of those rigs that a standard gun belt and holster wouldn't work? And you wouldn't stand out like a mall ninja either...Just my thoughts...

well whenever i am hunting or walking around on the property having a gun on my belt is just so uncomfortable or in a IWB especially when getting in and out of the truck. im not concerned about looking like a mall ninja for it wont be used in city limits thats what all the IWB's are for.
so hunting, hiking, hitting the streams for some trout.

 IMO a thigh holster would be a poor choice for this. A flap holster worn on your belt, or even a shoulder holster, will keep the gun better tucked in to your body and less likely to get scratched by underbrush, dunked in water, etc.

The thigh holster is really a specialized rig, for military/police operations wherein the "operator's" primary weapon is some sort of long gun and the handgun only a backup.

i just dont like the belt holsters or paddle holsters to much while im going all that stuff its a little more comfortable on a drop leg rig for me.
its a glock im not to worried about it being scratched up thats why i traded my XD for it haha. the finish on my early xd was
HORRIBLE the glocks is solid.

though weather a thingh holster is the best choice for you aside the best thing rig there is is the safariland 6004 series bar none in my opinion. get one you won't be disapointed.

When I used to pistol hunt, I carried my S&W 629, in .44MAG with an 8-1/2" barrel in an Uncle Mikes shoulder holster. It actually was across the chest and not under the arm. Extremely secure, handy and inexpensive.

Perhaps not what you are looking for, but a viable choice for the circumstances you mentioned.

Trust me, they are not that comfortable, especially if you're wearing one for longer than a couple of hours. I wore one to carry my Taser at work for a while and not only was it uncomfortable, it snagged on or bounced off of everything I walked past. If you intend to carry while hiking I would definately suggest a holster that keeps the weapon in tighter to the body and higher up to help avoid snagging and such.
