Polychoke, New Barrel, or Rethread?

I have a Stoeger M2000, originally with a 28" barrel that was cut back to 26" due to a stuck choke. I now face 3 options, all of which are very close in cost:
1. Polychoke II it.
2. Order a new barrel.
3. Have it rethreaded by a good smith.
I'll add that I also have a cantilevered slug barrel for it, and I have a handful of chokes for the original barrel. I love this shotgun, but after patterning it on the current setting, it throws pretty loose patterns.
Thoughts?

What do you mostly use the shotgun for? Hard to choose without knowing.

Good question. It's my go-to shotgun. With a rifled and smoothbore barrel, it's hard to find much it won't do. Dove, waterfowl, sporting clays, turkey, rabbit, quail, deer, etc. Any and everything. Not a HD gun, a hunting and clay gun. I seek versatility here. Thanks again.

New barrel would be my choice, the cost being approximately the same.
Second choice would be re-thread for new chokes.
Actually, if possible I would have it restored to Mobil Chokes as originally supplied with the gun. I have 2 other guns that take Mobil Chokes, and beside that, they are common as dirt.
I am a bit puzzled. I see a lot of posts about stuck chokes. How does this happen? I have 3 shotguns that take Mobile Chokes, one that takes Rem Chokes, and a Yildiz that takes Yildiz chokes. I shoot a lot. Well, a lot for me...about 200 rounds a week. I have never had a stuck choke. I have never had one that is even difficult to remove.
I do use Birchwood Casey Choke Tube Lube on all chokes...maybe that is the difference?

Order a new barrel and sell the existing barrel to someone who wants to whack it off to about 18.5" for HD use. You should come out ahead this way.

Excellent advice, IMO. Or...you could keep it, have it cut back to 18.5 and have all three bases covered. Birds, deer and HD. :)

I didn't factor in having a bead sight installed; it's actually more expensive to have the old barrel fixed than it is to replace it with a new one. That pretty much sums it up. Thanks guys!

use the current barrel for grouse or other close-in shots at birds and get a new longer barrel for clays and other hunting...that way you have a back-up barrel :)

If you like the gun that much, get a new barrel and get it back to where it was. And, get some good nickel Never-Seez paste (not aerosol) at an auto parts store, and you will never have another stuck choke tube. Do not get a drop on any clothing. That stuff is forever like nothing else on earth.
