Saw a bumper sticker that I think I understand, but can't find, "confuscation" in either of two home dictionaries.

Anyone know for sure what it means?

(Yes, I know what "eschew" means. As in, "eschew" voting for Barbara Boxer if you live in California. New Yorkers, just sub. Hillary Clinton's name. Same general principle.)

Not sure, its been awhile since college and all of the two bit words, but I think confuscation means lying or deceiving.

Eschew is to avoid or to refrain from using.

Confuscaiton is making something simple seem complicated by using complicated or uncommon words or euphemisms.

the phrase is a confuscation of the phrase "avoid confuscation"

pretty clever actually

Zundfolge-

That's about what I figured. Thanks.

By the way, "eschew" IS in the dictionary. I sometimes use the term.
Cute bumper sticker.

Tsk.

The proper term is:

eschew obfuscation

Use it all the time here abouts. As a screen saver, it always did make the "most knowledgeable" crazy, as they had no idea, & that was the whole point of the phrase, huh? ;)

Confuses local (worldwide, for us net-geeks) idiots who have no clue - sorry to the illiterate.

It means literally to "avoiding using confusing statements." ... or, enough to get by on.

& again, the whole point of it.
