Which of these poloymer framed 9mm handguns would you choose, and why?

Glock....the sig polymer hasn't been around long enough to prove itself.

I have had both. The SP2022 is the nicest poly I have ever held. Totally subjective statement however.

Depends upon you.

Most conventional semi-auto D/A triggers require too much reach for me.

I've got a Glock 19 and really like it.

In a 9mm I would choose the Glock 19. If we were talking .40 then I'd choose the Sig or Hk.

Sig. It's been around long enough.

I own Sigs and Glocks, and though I am very happy with the Sigs, I am not a big fan of the SigPro. I own a glock 19 and feel it is one of the best pistols on the market.

There are countless accessories for the Glock, it is reliable, light weight, high capacity, easy to work on, and parts are cheap if you want to replace anything. 9mm is where Glock is at its best as well.

Glock 19. I don't like Sigs. I don't particularly like Glocks either. If you had made it between Glock and HK, I'd have chosen the HK.

I would go with the Sig 2022. I like DA/SA guns myself. The Sig has proven itself on many occasions. The French National Police issues them along with a few other departments in Europe. Not to mention a few US agencies.

A decade isn't long enough? Please.

I'd take the SIG Pro...mine has been amazing in the four + years I've owned it. I do love the G19....I miss my old one, it too was a great gun and everything it's cracked up to be.

They're both fine handguns.

I'd say there are two deciding factors:
1) Trigger mechanism. DA/SA vs. DAO (or whatever you consider a Glock)

2) Grip angle. Which one "points" better for you?

With that, I think you'll have an answer.

If you like the Glock trigger mechanism and the Sig ergos, I'd check out an XD or M&P. If you like the Sig trigger mechanism and the Glock ergos I'd say "did you break your wrists when you were a child?" :)

If you are comfortable with the Glock grip angle go Glock, if not the Sig or the S&W M&P series is an excellent gun also.

I'm not a Glock guy either, but I will readily admit that the G19 I have in my safe is near perfect in size and in operation for the 9mm cartridge.

Reasonably small, lightweight, and easy to do well with.

I'd have to go with the Glock, all things being equal. The Glock has been around longer and will stick around while the other was Sig's first attempt at a polymer pistol and it wasn't well received. Not sure how it will be to get parts for the Sig down the road and, of course, there are many more accessories available for the Glock. Also, I've read of issues with bending the Sig takedown pin....the one I tried in the store wouldn't even go back together. Having said that, I've been tempted by the Sig since the price, with night sights, dropped to the high $400 range. I'd get one, with thoughts of collectors value...but that is risky.

Well, if you ant to be able to walk into any mom-n-pop gun store and have a plethora of holsters, accessories, magazines, and replacement parts, I'd go with the GLOCK.

Doesn't make it the better handgun. Personally, I like the SIG better, and would rather scour the internet for the stuff I need that put up with GLOCK ergonomics. (or lack thereof)

If it's for SD get the Glock. Proven reliability is the better bet.

I haven't fired a Glock but I love my Sig SP2022. Both have their pros and cons though, so its really up to which one fits you the best. The Glock is probably a little more concealable if your looking for a CCW, but the Sig would be the better option if you want a good full-sized range gun. The DA/SA trigger on the Sig is also arguably one of best out of the box triggers on any stock pistol. Sig Pro's can also be converted to DAO by a simple swap of the Fire Control Units. But if your not a fan of the DA/SA or DAO, the Glock trigger would probably suit you better.

They are both reliable and accurate guns you can trust your life to and will serve you well for many years to come. Just choose the one your more comfortable with. You can't go wrong with either.
