Recently picked up a Stoeger Luger, really nice condition Think it's one of the earlier ones, serial # is 196xx and it's fairly heavy which would seem to rule out the later aluminum alloy models. Anyway, the bluing on it is very good; the only problem is the head of the sear bar retaining screw has been dinged up by someone apparently using the wrong sized screwdriver. I can't find that screw anywhere. Tried Midway, Numrich (they list it but not in stock), Brownells, and several gunsmiths. Any one have any suggestions as to where to look? I've googled it every which way. Thanks

Thanks, dfariswheel. I've tried Stoeger, they said that the Luger was not a model that they purchased when they bought the Stoeger name. Also tried all of the other big parts houses with no luck. But your mention of Jacks First Gunshop sounds promising. Looked them up on line and hopefully they'll have it. Called but no answer, maybe too early. Thanks again.

Buggered screws can usually be repaired almost perfectly with a little patence, and a flat-tip punch & a screw-slot file, or flat needle file.

Get a steel block and drill a clearance hole for the shank to set in while supporting the head.

Then, peen all the displaced metal back where it came from with the punch.

Chuck the screw in a drill and polish it with fine emory paper, then cold blue it with Oxphoblue.

dfariswheel - Called JacksFirst again and, unbelievable, at least to me, they have it, new manufacture (they made it) and it's in the mail! Not cheap but worth it! Again, thanks for the info. I'll remember this place anytime I need a part. And thanks for the info rcmodel. Will keep it in mind for future use.
