I've drooled over their webpage a few times. I also have a friend or two who has carried and used them in several situations. Their quality has been vouched for by even more people. The problem is that the price is prohibitive for me. I've always said that I am willing to pay what it takes to have the absolute best knife or gun for self defence because my life would be partially riding on it. I guess I just didn't realise it would be a $250 knife. :P

I carry a handmade CQC-8 and it was worth every cent. I also carry a production Commander for utility and daily chores. The 8 is reserved for defensive use. Can't really go wrong with anything in the Emerson lineup.

I traded for my commander, but you should be able to find their knives for sale for much less then $250 ($130-180 depending on the version).
I'm still getting used to the tip up carry style, but it is growing on me.

I have a CQC "waved" 8 and a Commander. A Commander should be around $150.

I wore out the lock on a Karambit and also a Commander , over about a years time. I really wish the liners were thicker .
A commander done like the HD7 would be sweet.
Out of the pocket , the wave will beat an auto open ( at least for me ) every time.

Well I would if I went out more - at home I wear shorts with just a Moore Maker slippie and a key to the shop in the pockets. I put on my "going out" pants on about twice a week and then have the Kimber and Strider on board. :D
