Can my friend take my guns out of state?

My friend and I work in Ohio. This weekend I'm going to see friends at a college and he's going home to Michigan. I don't want to leave my shotgun and rifle at home while I'm gone with no one there. So, can my friend take my guns for the weekend, legally?

edit: I live in Ohio so that's where the guns are registered.

I don't see why not (provided that you know that he isn't a felon or otherwise prevented from owning one). You may want to give him a note that gives him permission to have them in his possession for that weekend (I wouldn't leave the dates open ended).
