Now, I know this isn't a forum for outdoor equipment. It is however, a forumfor the discussion of non-firearm weapons.
These Sigg bottles hold a litre of water, and function very well as water bottles. However, I do think their design lends itself more to being an emergency self-defense tool than other water bottles. The cap, which screws securely in, has a loop in it that would facilitate holding if being swung like a flail. It has a wide, hard end that would hurt if slammed into you head hammerfist style. Also, at the bottom, it has an edge that looks like it would break skin, particulary around the temple and forehead.
All in all, I'd say a Sigg is a great buy, both for practical and tactical. If you're going to be spending a lot of time in non-weapon enviroments, you might want to invest in one of these.
