questions about legality of a minor toting guns in a car. since i could drive (16) i've taken guns back and fourth between my home and friends houses to shoot. i take both long guns and pistols, with plenty of ammo. is that legal??

I'm guessing its a big "depends". In some places unsupervised possession of a firearm by a minor would probably be a crime. In other places its illegal for a minor to buy some kinda of guns, but possession is fine if the gun was given to them by a parent or guardian.

Well, you could go to nra.org or your state's/state police's website and look up the relevant codes . . . Kinda hard to give you an intelligent answer since your location is unknown

If "rural" Ohio is anything like "rural" Maryland, its unfortunate that those outside the big population centers (usually like night and day regarding political views/firearms issues) still have to live by the same laws, due to the political dominance of the urban areas.

What can be done about it? Heck if I know, short of the state legislature re-districting.

I live in southeast OH. I don't kno how old you are now dude, but I don't think it is legal to posses a handgun without adult supervision until you are 21. I know I break that one all the time, hope I never get caught. Makes my blood boil.
