hi all My mossberg 500A shotgun ejects a shell when it is fired and their are shells in the magazine. THe shell just flys out of the magazine when the gun fires, could it be that I have a weak magazine spring? or is something else wrong.

thanks in advance

Marsh

Its probably the cartridge interruptor. Remove the trigger group and the stop and interruptor will fall out. Bend the interruptor SLIGHTLY so the hook end will catch more of the shell. Re assemble...and let me know.

I would suggest that before you bend anything, that you first make sure you have inserted the shells FULLY into the magazine. Don't just push the shells til you hear the first "click". Push them well up in there with your thumb. Then try it again and see what happens.

It's a mossberg 500... Almost every one I've been around would do that if the gun was run hard.
