Just heard on the news that there was a "defensive" shooting in PG County. Not sure if it's Va or MD, but since they aren't talking about executing the shooter, it is probably Va.

Shooter gets a page from his car alarm that his car is being broken into/stolen. Shooter goes out to investigate and confronts 4 youts with screwdrivers. Claims to feel "threatened" and fired 4 shots, hitting two, killing one. The best part? DA (or was it ADA?) hasn't decided on pressing charges yet AND said this shooting sends a message to car thieves in the area. He referred to the shooter's gun as his "defensive weapon" or something like that.

The bad: Shooter shot one of the youts in the back. Of course, that doesn't mean the disadvantaged yout was running away, he may have spun around at a bad moment. I wasn't there, I don't know.

The news report goes on to mention two other criminal deaths that happened in PG County recently. One was an attempted robbery at a chinese restaurant. Employee shot and killed robber. No charges are going to be filed. Another was where a would-be victim held the perp in a tight headlock until the cops arrived. Perp died from headlock. No charges filed.
