I carry a Glock 23C w/ Cor-Bon .40 ammo and have noticed that quite a few of the rounds have very loose bullets. I have replaced them to avoid a possible failure due to moisture, etc. Anyone have any knowledge of this happening?

...that have already made a few trips up the feed ramp? The repeated impact of the slide slamming the bullet into the feed ramp when chambering a round has been know either to drive the bullet deeper into the case (setback) or to loosen the crimp. If, in fact, these are rounds that have been chambered several times, it is a warning that you need to alter your habits. I advise my students to rotate any ejected round to the bottom of the magazine and to check overall cartridge length after two or three trips up the feed ramp.
If you are noticing a loose crimp on rounds that have not been chambered or have only been chambered once, you have spotted a problem in Cor-Bon's loading process and should contact them for resolution.

Yes, these rounds have been used in my carry gun for about 2 years (probably too long), and have been chambered numerous times. I just switched them out with Gold Dot rounds. I'm gonna shoot up the rest of the Cor-Bons soon. Thanks for the input.

You can't chamber the same round over and over again with out the bullet getting loose and possibly getting shoved deeper into the case. A bullet set back like that and fired can build pressures higher then normal and it could be bad.
Myself, if i have to re chamber a round more then a couple of times i rotate it to the bottom of my magazine.

Funny you should mention this. I was at Gander Mountain in Beaumont, Texas yesterday afternoon picking up a few things. I've been wanting to try the Cor-Bon .454 for some time. I grabbed a box off the shelf and I've always had a habit of opening the box and checking out the rounds.
I opened the box and pulled out a cartridge and when I did, I felt a "rattle". I tapped it on the metal shelf and it was very clear that the crimp was loose.
I brought the box to the manager and requested he not put it back on the shelf. I picked up a box of my regular 240 gr. Hornady instead.

CHanging your habits is good advice, your glock .40 S&W barrel does
not fully support the cartridge case, with overpressure of a set back bullet
there have been documented Kabooms (KBs) with Glock .40 S&Ws.
KBs = overpressure blowout at the rear of the cartridge case where
the case where unsupported is blown out and the resulting damage could
be permanent to the gun and/or shooter.
I'd consider buying a bullet puller for the rounds you speak of, if it were me.
WIth carry ammo, I shoot it regularly at the range usually towards the end of a session after firing less expensive practice ammo I'll do a magazine or two of carry ammo - practice with the carry stuff else you're not use to the full power loads.
Many reccommend that a semi-auto should never be emptied by repeatedly just jacking the slide to kick them out of the ejection port. BAD and Unsafe
if you want to check the gun for proper cycling of rounds buy good dummy aika snap caps for this.
just imho and my 2 cents and all that...
