Nice picture. I think you will find shooting shiny surfaces easier using natural light. I was taking pictures of a polished stainless Ruger and the best ones came from sitting it on the windowsill and getting as much light as possible. Turned off the flash.

Nikon Coolpix 3100 set on macro with no flash, used reading lamp for illumination.

I don't mind the shine too much. Natural light is both better and easier to work with, but I sometimes achieve reasonably good results with flash.

Still fudging with macro levels on mine.. can't seem to get decent focus.

I'm still trying to figure out picture size and resolution.
