I got it back from the smiths it had bent the shell guide due to the use of a nail in the extractor in place of a hardnend pin. It had wallowed out the hole so the smith had to redrill then put a piece of drill rod in with epoxie then redrill it the right size. So if you are tempted to use a nail as a pin don't it worked out and locked up the action and cost me $71 to get fixed.
It does feed right and he did a good job. The old rifle is quite valuable according to Blue Book, so I couldn't afford to not fix it.
Love the old gun as it shoots good, and has personality, somewhere in its past someone decorated the stock with small decorative pieces if metal in the shape of a heart with a arrow through it with his loves initals in it with gold blood drops driping down. To me this gives it personality.
The metal is 70%.
Well I just wanted to share my pleasure with the smith and rifle.
