I tried to put a smiley face on my signature, but I found that "signature permissions" would not let me:

Signature Permissions
Allow Basic BBCode Yes
Allow Color BBCode No
Allow Size BBCode Yes
Allow Font BBCode No
Allow Alignment BBCode No
Allow List BBCode No
Allow Link BBCode Yes
Allow HTML No
Allow [IMG] Code No
Allow Code BBCode No
Allow PHP BBCode No
Allow HTML BBCode No
Allow Quote BBCode Yes
Allow Smilies No
Can Upload Images for Signature No
Can Upload Animated GIF for Signature No

I've never run across that before: "Allow Smilies No."

Help?

Rationale for this?

Point me to something that explains it?

I tried the search function in THR for "signature permission" and all I got was threads related to getting permission from authorities to have a gun or some such... clearly irrelevant.

Interesting. I never noticed that before. Mine's got it too.

Very good.

OK, so how do you do it? Besides just drawing a line in the body of the message and using a neener?

We've never allowed images in signatures, and a smiley is simply an image.

OK, thanks, Mal H. Sorta kinda, since it was listed there, I figured it was an option that could be changed one way or another...

I presume the same holds for the rest of the Yesses and Noes.

I further presume that the next time somebody searches for "Signature Permission" or any of the other Yesses and Noes I listed above, this thread will pop up.

Have a great day!

Why'd you take out the color and font style for a sig?

It was making for some very distracting signatures. A signature is supposed to be just that, not a flashy billboard as some seemed to think.
