Biden and CCW

Delaware has a system for issuing permits. I know that there is recepricity with Florida, but I have no insight into the process.

Can anybody find out if he has - or has had - one from Delaware?

Given BHO's view on CCWs - not to mention Biden's on the so-called Ugly Weapons Ban that he demonstrated before Heller - it would be nice to be able to bring up that elitism.

I would bet that in the vetting, it was not a question a bunch of Illinois types would figure out to ask.

For the fence-sitters out there, something along the lines of showing Biden to be a CCW holder might be the push they need to abandon the BOJB camp this fall.

Did your post disappear? The reason is that it didn't follow the Activism forum requirements and probably wandered off too far into political discussion or negativism.

Read the sticky on "Before you post".

I do think we need to dig a little... It's a win/win if he has one... Push "hypocrite" to fence-sitting gun owners, and, well, pretty much the same thing to the soccer mommies who seem to think that Obama's so rock-star sexy...

"Banning guns is an idea whose time has come."
--U.S. Sen. Joseph Biden Associated Press 11/18/93
Obviously Mr. Biden hasn't read the Constitution lately.

I doubt Mr.Biden has changed his position one iota in 15 years.
Just another reason to work tirelessy to defeat this hoplophobic ticket in November.

Biden is my senator unfortunately, he is as antigun as they come.
I know his daughter Ashley, and she told me he doesn't own any firearms or do any shooting, and is opposed to civilians owning guns. I offered to take her shooting, and she declined.

Biden voted in 2003 to ban rifle ammunition if it could pierce a level 2 "policeman's vest" since civilians dont need armor piecrcing ammunition.

Remember the primaries? Instead of an NRA A or B our best bet is a C, because of the way the primaries went. Act now, don't complain later. If we get a Pro-gun president 3 times in a row, maybe both parties will have pro-gun candidates next year.

Hello political... folks, the question is, "who has dirt on Biden pertaining to guns?" Let's find his statements concerning his distaste for guns. I know he slandered that guy blathering about his "babies" during the democratic primaries. Is it possible to get CCW in Delaware? I know he's a "Catholic", so you could get the Gabriel Possenti people to speak against him from both the anti-gun and the Catholic-in-name-only angle. You could say something along the lines that, "Biden, claims to be Catholic, yet he consistently speaks against the rights of the unborn AND the living. In short, he wants to make sure that no life is defensible." The right to protect yourself is enumerated in the constitution, which Biden swore to uphold. The right to protect both those living inside AND outside the womb is what Biden swore to protect when he received the sacrament of confirmation in the Catholic Church. Clearly he is going against both church AND state.

Interesting. Didn't he claim to own a shotgun during one of the debates?

Obama and Biden! Big trouble for us
No, a big break for us.

Biden has the second highest negatives of any of the likely VP picks and probably the lowest positives.

Obama's people were running around the last few weeks with a disinformation campaign on how the NRA was "making up" things about his gun control record. This only reinforces the perception of his hostility to gun owners.

He's probably lost enough gun owners in Ohio to lose the election, just the way Kerry did.

Be sure to pass out those Obama position cards you got in the latest American Rifleman.

Did your post disappear?

If so, it probably wandered off into a political discussion beyond the scope of the OP or started to discuss something other than the OP's topic.

If you want to discuss politics try APS.

This election is a critical topic with huge implications for gun owners and the 2nd Amendment (court appointees anybody?).

One would would think the long term implications are more important than THR's stringent "no politics" policy. It would be a shame for it to get buried in APS when THR reaches so many shooters.

Just my $0.02 and yes I realize this isn't "my personal forum" and we are "guests" etc. etc. etc.

shdwfx,

While the SOP here is to delete drift or off topic posts because we're prone to loosing focus and wandering off into complaining when we're supposed to be working on a plan (and thereby shoot ourselves in the foot) I'll try to explain.

Obama and Biden are both avowed Antis. They'll both say anything to get to the Whitehouse. They may play down their Anti status to one audience and talk it up to another. There's no chance of changing either of their positions on RKBA by anything we say or do and as such
there's no need for political discussion this Presidential election.

Activism isn't for whining and wringing of hands or chest beating and howling at the moon. It is where we plan to affect change, where there is the remote possibility of change. We don't have time to waste getting side tracked.

What we need to be doing in planning how to defeat these two. The OP has proposed one course of action. We want to mine this idea out and refine it so we have something to work with that is more keenly honed.

If anyone has another course of action that might work then they need to open another thread so we can mine that idea and refine it. We need all the good ideas we can get.

If someone just wants to complain about Obama and Biden, they need to take it somewhere else where folks cry into their beer instead of working to accomplish something.

The very recent drift off of Biden and onto Catholics and shooting has been deleted.

It has some merit as a topic in and of itself. If you want your post so you can start/contribute to a thread with that topic feel free to PM me.

I like the idea of talking to anti-gun folks. I'm starting to think that gathering around the camp fire to rally with like-minded people is mostly a waste of time. I'd like to go behind enemy lines and use more effective methods of persuasion. By the way, proof of Biden's anti-gun stance will only bolster Barack's cause. Thinkers who are on the fence already know about Barack's anti-gun agenda. Showing that Barack's campaign is "more anti-gun than ever" won't sway them away. For those who already love Obama, Biden only makes them more excited. I know it's a cliche, but I have to admit that I'd rather not vote for Obama or McCain.

You're the man...

Ashley: "I hate guns and all civilian gun owners."

Master Blaster: "Do you want to go shooting?"

Ashley: "Hell no! I hate you."

Master Blaster: "Do you still want to go to the movies?"

Ashley: "OK."

Biden was one of the key sponsors and driving forces behind the 1994 crime bill and assault weapons ban. Anti-gun enough for 'ya?

And FWIW, I used to live in DE, am a member of the same church as Biden, and went to school with Biden's sons. I wouldn't trust that bloviating media whore any further than I could throw him.

Obama's organization is deep into a disinformation campaign to paint accurate portrayals of its gun control stance as "lies". The Biden choice makes that a REALLY hard sell, especially given the likelihood that Biden will continue to be openly antagonistic to gun owners.

Had Obama picked someone even only anti-gun in a lukewarm sort of way, they might have been able to pull the deception off. It's looking pretty bad for that effort now. Biden brings virtually nobody to Obama's camp and drives away gun owners of all affiliations.

Pass out those Obama cards from the American Rifleman!!!

Yeah, gawd forbid we discuss a candidate's CCW status and get all "political" n' stuff.

CCW is a political act.

Gun ownership is a political act.

Posting online is a politcal act.

CENSORSHIP is a political act.

This post will probably get the thread locked up . . . speaking of "political."
