To the mechanical release shooters out there, what do you use? I am currently using an old Jim Fletcher Fletchhunter. I like it because it slips on and off with ease, and no velcro. However, I punched myself in the face shooting the thing the other day. I've had a couple 'misfires' like this. I think it's just old and needs to be replaced. I am looking at the new Fletchhunter shorty, because my draw length is a little bit longer than I'd like, and this offers a good way to accomodate that. It has velcro, which isn't the best for the woods, but I figure it should be silent once it's in position. Anybody else use once of these, or have any other reccomendations? I'm not looking to spend a fortune, I have a pretty basic bow setup. I shoot with a string loop on my bow string also.

I like the looks of the copperhead without the connecting rod because I like to tuck the release in my sleeve when I climb up a tree stand. i know these are very popular, so I'll keep them in mind. The Fletcher might be more in my budget though. I see they also have a dual caliper version the '.44 calliper'.

I use a Tru Ball with a black leather wrist strap:

I think it's the "Cyclone" or similar....
But I suspect they're all about the same - you don't have to spend a ton to get a functional one.

I use Tru-Fire I think it is the Patriot but could be Hurricane. I like a lot never any malfunctions. Although I accidently clipped my loop started my draw and slipped off and I punched myself in the face. I thought my release was jacked up but its not.

I use a 15 dollar cobra release I got in the late 90's and even though 4 years since then don't count because of the Marines, it still works and has gotten more then a few deer.
Think decent priced...the indians didn't use much more then the stick and string...archery is expensive as a hobby so play your cards right....100 dollar sights...hahaha I got a 12 dollar achers choice off ebay recently that works fine.

Fingers, I also use a recurve bow. I have a cammed bow but it shoots lousy and it sits on the wall while I shoot the recurve.
