I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good shoulder holster that allows for vertical carry. I'm a little uncomfortable using a horizontal carry mode. I would like to keep my costs under $100. This holster would most commonly be used with business attire.

I have had good luck with Bianchi.
Shoulder holsters are a bear to get adjusted to the individual, and if they aren't just right they can be miserable.

Jacket or coat fit is also a part of the package.

I second CR Sam's comment. I have tried a few shoulder holsters and find that I prefer strong side carry on my belt. The only time I have found a shoulder holster to be beneficial is for long handguns such as revolvers with 6 or 8 inch barrels or if I am going to be sitting for most of the day. When I do use a shoulder holster I usually go with the Bianchi X-15.

Second and third to both the gentlemen above. Adjusting a shoulder harness for comfort is a very picky thing, and requires time and patience. You didn't specify the gun you intend to carry, but "business attire" is another limiting factor. One BIG advantage of Bianchis X15 is the single shoulder arrangement, with flat elastic across the other side of the body. Most of the all-leather double harnesses will print across the back, under a suit or sport coat and the method of joining the two halves can also be a giveaway. Two good alternatives for carry in business attire are the Null SMZ or SKR and the Alessi Guardian, with a small revolver such as a J frame. They are "butt down" carry and very secure. Nulls entire rig is a thin polymer and the Alessi is a thin, flat leather double harness. Both require fitting over several days to a couple of weeks - not because of design flaws or limitations, but because they are shoulder rigs.
