I just bought a 1992 3" S&W M65-5 from an LEO friend of mine, who bought it new as their duty weapon.
I know he's pretty particular about his stuff, so I wasn't surprised to see it was in nearly new condition. What I was surprised by, though, was the trigger - simply the best, smoothest DA trigger I've ever felt. Far better than even my 1951 K-22 Masterpiece. I asked who did the action job, and he replied that the only thing done to it (other than regular cleaning) was a factory cleaning by S&W at some point.
Is it possible that the factory cleaning is so much more thorough than what most of us can do at home that it would significantly improve and/or smoothen the trigger? Or perhaps this gun is just a rare gem.
