Refinishing a 1911

I've got a daily carry 1911 Norinco that the P.O. had refinished with some kind of surface blue. Needless to say, it looks like it's been drug behind a truck.

I'd like to get this finish stripped and a durable finish put on without spending a ton of money.

Anybody got a recommendation for somewhere to get it done near Louisville, KY?

Thanks!

Ask the guys at Firearms Service Center in Louisville. Gary Roman will know who to have do it.

Or you could just hop across the I-65 bridge to Kiesler's in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Doug has some guys that work there that can do wonders with a 1911.

What's a ton of money? I had my Kimber hard chromed for about 120.00. Considering the extra durability vrs. the $80 or so for a blue job, I spent the extra.

Al,

Who did your hard chrome if you don't mind?

Mrstang, how do you like your Norinco? I have two and am building one for carry right now.

Bren,

I love mine, I've got 2, one for daily carry, and another as my spare! They are super weapons, and mine shoot great.

Yours is very nice looking.
