It seems like most of us like loud movies...

...like the Matrix, Saving Private Ryan, Blackhawk Down, etc...

Guys, if you've got an all in one home theater system, and the little subwoofer doesn't make the kerbooms quite as kerboom as they should be, check out the www.partsexpress.com site before 6:00 est Aug 5... They're just releasing their 2nd version of their small footprint subwoofer, special until 6:00 for $99, and let me tell you, I've got their first version in Bogie's Bunker, and gun movies just flat out ROCK. The thing is set so that you can plug your front speaks into the back, and it'll filter out the low end and run it through the sub, and send the high stuff out to your speaks - it'll work with a regular stereo too - you don't need the home theater stuff if you're running your TV through the ol' Marantz...

This isn't going to beat the big "missile silo" looking subs, but they do have some rather incredible bang for the buck. Without a good sub, flicks like Equillibrium, Way of the Gun, etc., sound sort of tinny to me now. I've done business with the outfit before, and they're very reputable. If you like gun movies, but you can't get the low end quite loud enough, this may be what you need.
