I have been looking for a low ride duty style holster for my Glock 17 for a while now without any luck. I'f preffer something in leather. But it's been kinda hard to find anything that suits me, most of the low ride holsters only drop 1.5-2-5" while I'd like a 3-4" drop. Does anything like this exist or am I just plain outta luck here?

Take a look at High Noon. www.highnoonholsters.com They have an extensive IWB line.

I'm not looking for IWB holsters but duty holsters. It's intended for competitions that focus on "practical" types of shooting with a military bent. I got a 1911 with a Safariland 6004 holster, but I am not that impressed by the holster as the hype had lead me to believe. Hence I am trying to find a belt holster that does not have the negatives of a paddle holster or other mid-ride belt holster for my G17.

Ted Blocker has some interesting drop leather holsters but they also have a swivel and I don't want that, and maybe just a 3" drop would be enough:

Maybe this will help:

Difficult to determine just how low this is but it is worth looking into.

Is this sort of what you are looking for? With maybe a bit more drop?

Safariland 6280. It will ride lower then a typical duty holster but not as low as a thigh holster like the 6004. You only really need a thigh holster if you are wearing tactical body armor or other equipment and need to access your handgun. I always cut the strap on my 6004 short so that the holster rides just below my armor, and only use the bottom leg strap. I don't understand how people can wear them as low as they do.

I actually went and bought a used Desantis holster because it had some small drop and was cheap(25 bucks), it has worked out quite well actually so far. Just bought a Gould & Goodrich sam browne belt for it too.
