Hello Everyone,

I've been lurking here for a while now, so I figure I'll go ahead and introduce myself. I'm 25 years old, a PA native, just moved to FL a few months back. I just purchased my first handgun, which is a Kahr MK40 Elite 98 with factory night sights and Pearce grip extensions. I picked this baby up for $560 shipped from Guns America. Finally had the chance to hit the range, where she happily consumed an entire 100rnd box of Winchester Value, and 20 Federal Classic JHP's. Not one failure of any kind, and she was superbly accurate. Needless to say, I'm extremely happy with my purchase. Next on the list will be a Fist Kydex IWB holster w/ J hook, and my FL CWP. I've learned quite a bit from you folks here, and am extremely grateful. My only hope is that one day, I'll be close to being as tactical as Skunkabilly. :)

I've attached a picture of the girl, still dirty from the range. I still don't have a carry knife, so for the time being, I'm carrying this uber-tactical black Spork®. It's very useful as it can easily be passed through metal detectors, and is one hell of an eye-puter-outer!

Dont forget about the Uber-tactical Kydex Spork Sheath. You need an AR for all that uber-tacticality.:D

I am writing my senator about the evil and dangerous asthetic qualities of black plastic cutlery. SEE??? IT IS CUTLERY, IT CUTS!! AND ITS AN EVIL BLACK COLOR!!!! THE EVIL BLACK PLASTIC CUTLERY NEEDS TO BE BANNED!! THE DANGEROUSLY TACTICAL SNOW-CAMO WHITE CUTLERY MUST BE REGISTERED!!! THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!!

:D  :neener:

Oh, and welcome to THR.

I'll let you guys in on a little secret. KFC has 'em. Not all KFC's though! Some have moved over to regular black plastic forks. What fun is there in that? At least with the Spork®, you have the functionality of the fork AND the spoon. Not to mention, it's FAR deadlier in the right hands...

Thanks! I'm near Ft Lauderdale, so I think I'm like an hour, hour and a 1/2 south of you. I'll keep that in mind though!

I also forgot to mention in my original post, I'm tryin to get into LE down here. I was going to do it in PA, and applied for a dept up there before moving to FL. Did very well on my written test, aced the oral board, but found out that I had only 2 weeks to get my outta-shape butt ready for the physical agility test. I had 2 weeks to quit smoking, and get in shape enough to run 1.5 miles in 13:16, bench press about 85% of my body weight, sprint 300m in 50somethin secs, do 35 situps in 1 minute, and a few other things. I could only do 31 situps in a minute. :-( No biggie though, cuz there's no way in hell I would've ran 1.5 miles in 13:16. :) Right now I'm in the process of getting in better shape so I don't embarrass myself down here like I did in PA. :banghead:

If anyone down here has some leads on LE jobs here, lemme know!

Thanks!

Welcome to the board and to Florida!

The Highway Patrol is actively recruiting these days. The pay is pretty good and the benefits are great. A big bonus is that you will be working for the State and won't have to deal with city/politics so much in the performance of your duties.

Oh..and nice pistol!

Good Shooting

My only hope is that one day, I'll be close to being as tactical as Skunkabilly.

Sorry, that ain't ever gonna happen!

As for the Spork, see that light shining off of it from the flash? You need to put a matte Teflon finish on it, so it doesn't reflect off of things at night and give your position away to tangos (tangoes? tangii?)

See the things you pick up on while following the Path to True Tacticality? :D

I can't believe Skunk left out the other necessary spork upgrades:
550 cord wrapped, carbon fiber grips
Surefire light
lanyard ring
single point sling
laser
phaser
windspeed indicator

Glad he mentioned the flash-suppressor, though. (watch out, may be illegal in some states).

Welcome.

Welcome aboard, RX7!

But, watch out for that Spork! and keep it away from the children. It was one of those "assault utensils" that made Rosie O'Airhead fat!!

Welcome,

And of course, you know, new guy buys the beer, ammo, and cleans all the guns after the first range session.:D

Remember, never bring a spork to a gun battle:evil:

Rx7Boricua: Welcome to the party. You and your Spork will fit right in...:D

Skunkabilly: ('cause I KNOW you'll know) Where can a smarter-than-the-average bear like myself get a carbon-fiber Spork for his tactical pik-a-nik basket?....;)
