It's my dad's, and it's been in the family a long time, but he's got two other 30-30s that are more sentimental, and is thinking of selling this one to buy something else.

It's a Marlin Model 1893. It says Marlin Safety on top of the reciever, and the serial number on the bottom of the reciever is 37907*. The blueing is pretty worn, and the wood has a few nicks and stuff, but it still looks pretty decent overall.

My dad said the ejector might be bent a little too, but not sure. I haven't shot it in over a decade (neither has he), and it seemed to shoot just fine then.

What's this gun worth?

Thanks.

The 1893 is one of the earliest Marlin rifles suitable for smokeless powder. In the condition described (fair?), and not modified in any way, it should fetch around $500.00 or so. Condition, of course, will dictate the going rate for this rifle but, unfortunately, condition is, by definition, a very subjective matter.
