Does anyone have a Kershaw Leek G10 that they use as an everyday carry knife? Your opinion, please. Thanks!

I EDC a Kershaw Leek but its not the G10. I absolutely love it and have since bought one for a buddy. If something ever happens to mine, it will be replaced by another Leek.

Yes, I do and yes, it's the perfect EDC - my favorite EDC for slacks. Tied at 1st as favorite EDC with SpecBump. Highly recommended. Get the straight blade, not serrated - S30V is too hard to sharpen on those serrations!

I carry the vapor II, I have used a leek, and they are nice, but never carried one. FWIW, kershaw makes a good knife. I just prefer the vapor of the full sized vaporII to the leek.
You wont be let down.

Ive been really thinking about getting this S30V version http://www.newgraham.com/detail.aspx?ID=5474
but Its more expensive than the other knives I was looking at (BM Griptilian & Spyderco Delica)
How does the S30V compair to VG-10 or D2
Im just starting to get into knives and Im trying to find the perfect EDC.
I carried a Kershaw blackout for a few years and it got real loose but I really liked the assisted opening.

I carry the scallion. Comes *sharp* when new, but it does not hold an edge all that well IMO. I kind of wish the leek came in a fixed blade, but I haven't looked that hard for one or something similar.

the leek is a marvelous design with lame steel. as are most kershaws. the g10 leek fixes that shortcoming, but the g10 scales part makes the knife thicker. like the crkt m-16 with the zyntel handles are thicker than the all aluminum m-16.
that s30v steel is nice though. spyderco's use it a lot and the spidey fanatics like it. very hard, but brittle.

I had a G10 Leek and added a titanium framelock scale from a ZDP Leek. I called it the "Ultimate" Leek. The titanium made it thinner, and I prefer framelocks, so it was almost perfect. I wish Kershaw would produce them like that!

While G10 has the benefit of being light and rigid I no longer carry any G10 knives as EDCs because they chew up your trouser pocket edges if you don't modify them by putting something on them to cover the abrasive composite in contact with your pants.
