I've calmed down a little bit after unpacking the 10mm that Ted Yost built for me. Here are a few rushed pics I snapped of it, a more detailed review will follow in the next few days!

This what I sent to Ted

Here is what I received today! For those with sharp eyes, the grip screws developed circles in them after the hardchroming process for some reason - Ted is shipping me replacements once he gets a new batch of HC work done

You can see the fluted Ed Brown bull barrel (no ramp) in this shot

Ted wasn't happy with how the Ed Brown Hardcore slidestop looked when he added serrations to the underside (my request) so he remade the whole thing! IMO they should all look like that! :)

Heinie Slantpros rounded edges with serrations carried forward, rear opening widened and Trijicon inserts added afterwards without the white circles. Top rib lowered and serrated at 50LPI

Beautiful.

I notice the Delta Elite markings on the slide. Is the frame chrome or stainless?

Added more pictures to the top!

10-Ring: I moved the photos to a different host, they should come across now.

Bren: The flutes were Ted's idea, while they don't have much practical functionality on a pistol, I love the way they look! :)

Bergeron: The frame is a Caspian in carbon steel, Tripp Research did the hardchrome job, Ted did the reblue after the sights and french borders were done.

How much was that?

I probably would need a loan from my 401K for it... :uhoh:

If you don't want to say, that's fine too.

Wow!

That's one gorgeous pistol. Lots of workmanship, time and attention, plus top quality components in this one.

Enjoy.

Beautiful pistol and work by Yost! I too am interested in how long I would have to save up in order to be able to afford that kind of work. Do tell. :)

Also, where can I get some Thuya Burl grips like those? I love 'em!

WhoKnowsWho: I've got less in it than I would if I bought a high-end Wilson, and its exactly what I wanted. What a bargan!

tetchaje1: Ted made those grips for me with wood that I supplied him. It is almost spooky how well he works with wood as well as metal!

Very nice gun.

And I can tell by the particular ammo box it's sitting on that this one prefers the hot 10mm loads. :D

Having had the opportunity to examine a few examples of Ted's
work...inside and out...it's apparent that he approaches each
pistol with the thought; "This one will be my best one."

Congratulations are in order, along with a warning. Yost 1911's
are like those potato chips...One just ain't enough!

Cheers!
