To release the slide on a stuck glock hold the slide firmly in your off hand and hit the rear of the grip smartly with your shooting hand in an open grip like you are going to pick the gun up. Hit it with the web between the thumb and index finger along with your palm. Have the same problem when reloading long OAL bullets. Slide will not budge. Grip hard with left hand between thumb and forefinger keeping the slide in the meaty part of your hand. One or two whacks with your grip hand open should do it.

And I am sure you want to know just how I know to do that. RO "If the shooter is finished, unload and show clear". Me "well I can't. The gun will not unload". Was then shown how to open a stubborn Glock. When they get locked up they are quite stubborn. No running room to get things started. Like the old joke on how to get English out of a cue ball and..... Oh well nevermind.

SO sad.
Mud, water, ice, sand, dust, dirt, running it over, and dropping it out of a helo won't do it.
Who woulda thunk a lowly blanket is all it takes to stop Glock cold!! :D

To be fair, Gaston Glocks mother was very strict, and very up-tight.
She was constantly yelling in Austrian, "Gaston, stop playing with it in bed!"
He became so traumatized, it probably never entered his mind as an adult to make his guns Binky-Proof!
