Thought you would find this sight interesting, as few people seem to have heard of this truly state-of-the-art telescopic sight. This sight is what makes the .50 Barrett rifles effective as sniping rifles on the first shot at distances of thousands of yards.

Go to: http://barrettrifles.com/optics_bors.aspx Click on the "Sighting In" video window in the lower right for a demo.

Mine...BORS with Leopold 4.5 x 14 x50 LR/T Mark 4 Mildot scope...is mounted on a Springfield .308 M1A, Krieger stainless steel barrel, walnut stock with built-in adjustable cheekpiece, Harrris bipod,,,done by the AMU at Fort Benning. Sure wish I had something like this when I was shooting 1,000 yard matches with iron peep sights on my M1 Garand!:D

Now...here's the truly astounding part...I bought this at an estate sale, where no one knew what it was...including myself! No one was interested in this very heavy, rather ungainly-looking package...no bids! You couldn't even tell what the base scope was, as all ID was covered by the scope cap mounts. I was interested in the rifle alone, as I had a nice Leopold Mk 4 to put on it...offered $1,500 for the rifle alone, allowed myself to be talked up to a quite satisfactory $1,600, then on a whim offered $2,000 for the entire package...Sold! Had no idea what I had until I looked up the Barrett website afterwards. It appears to have never been fired. Guess I got my $2,000 worth...:D:D:D

Okay that is one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time. Bit above my budget right now, but I can definetly see myself getting one in a couple of years. Very cool that you got it for that kind of deal.

uhh, no.

they are cool though. one of my local gun stores has one in stock. i think they want $1400 or so for it. I was going to put one on my barrett but it only goes on the leupold scope, and mine came as a package with a barrett-labeled swarovski, so it didn't make much sense to be replacing it.
