For competition, what setup do you prefer.

I like a completly black rear sight, I have not tried a fiber optic front yet for the front, but so far, prefer a black front or a dot front.

But mostly, prefer a black rear sight.

What kind of competitive shooting are you inquiring about?

IDPA mostly.

Personally...black rear and fiber optic front. On sunny days that FO front sight is a gem. Besides, it's a must have for 'old eyes'.

Stock sights, Whatever they may be, Tritium novak (1911), Heine straight eight (XD-9 SC), Trijicon (Sig 225), Stock serrated blade (S&W 640). Never have major aiming issues, and besides I dont use the sights till around 25 feet or so unless the target is a non-shoot.

I bounce back and forth. Presently my Production guns have plain black front sights, and my Limited blaster has a red fiber optic. I haven't quite decided which one I like better.

Always, plain black rear sight. Dots and such on the rear sight do nothing good. Your visual focus should be on the front sight.

Front sights are pretty cheap. Try all three, see which one you like the best.

Thinnest possible fiber optic front.

Adjustable black rear.

For IDPA or IPSC, I prefer an adjustable rear sight (BoMar, etc) that's all black and a gold dot front sight. If not a gold dot, a fiber optic would be my choice. Green or red, either seems to work fine for me.

Big Dot or Henie 8 type. I hate three dot.

I've been using Williams Firesights. Tough to beat for the moeny, last forever. I did just put FO front sights on my Sig P6s.

For target work, I still like the black on black sight picture. Something that resembles a Patridge for a front sight and a good black rear sight.

For woods bumming I go with either my black sights or some version of the sourdough front sight.

It's what works for me.

On most of my GLOCKS, I retain the stock front and rear sights. They seem to work well for me (and no, they don't just fall off). On my Limited Gun, I just installed some triangular sights- bright red front with white rears. I still can't decide whether I like them or not. REALLY fast pickup on close targets, but I haven't got the sight picture figured out for longer shots.

I use Warren Sevigny sights on my USPSA Limited gun and Warren Tacticals on my IDPA gun. Nice sights, simple, and tough (like Scott Warren).

For fixed sights, Warren sights are the bomb diggity, no doubt.

You can call Scott Warren simple, though. I'll just watch from a safe distance... ;)
