I was actually tempted to put a BSA 4x32 on my Winchester 69A .22lr since it does not need to stand up to heavy recoil, but I think it deserves better than that. Chris (and others), what do you think is the best value 4x32 or 4x28 or similar for a rimfire?

I like the Weaver I reviewed here. (http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32873&highlight=Weaver) I'd call it a "Best Buy," rather than a "Best Scope."

I have the same Weaver scope that Jaywalker has, and got it from SWFA. It's a very good buy for the money, IMO. It used to be on my 10/22 but I moved it over to my Savage 93GL .22 Mag. I should get a second one.

On recommendation of Volquartsen and others,
I bought a pair of Weaver V16 scopes for my two custom 10/22 rifles. They are 4-16X by 42mm. They are clear and have that huge 4 times magnification range and are AO. I paid $219 at BearBasin.com However, you can't find that good a price currently.
By the way, I really love the Burris "Signature" Z-Rings I used on one of the scopes. The plastic inserts are a great idea!!!
I just bought a Burris 6-24x Signature scope for $529 from BearBasin. But, i've yet to mount and test it. I do really like the reticle. It is a very fine plex pattern. Thin plex and then fine cross hairs. Should be great for target and prairie dog, etc. I got glossy as the Burris "matte" looks more matte than the side of an AR15. Very "dry" looking.
