Goodbye all

Well my exam period is over and my girlfriend just flew back into the UK from her three month stay in Canada - so I must return to normal life. That will take me away from the internet, which is a good thing as I have spent rather too much time online these last couple of months.

I wanted to say a few things. TheHighroad 99% of the time is exactly what is best about internet discussion forums. My congratulations to you all.

What I have learned - the M-14 is the best gun ever. Period. The 5.56 NATO round wouldn't put a mildly irritated four year old down in one shot. 9mm is for girls and squirrels have got up and walked away from multiple 9mm hits. (I suggest you take this paragraph with a VERY big ;))

Seriously - Gun owners ain't all rednecks. Guns are not something I feel strongly about and if shotguns were issued to all homeowners in the UK tomorrow I certainly wouldn't be on the streets shouting 'Think of the children'.

Keith and Duncan - forthright, challenging and never personal. Thanks.

Art - welcoming and a great moderator.

Agricola - good luck.

MicroBalrog - don't get yourself shot. See you online when I have successfully completed my 'drying out' period.

Hope I have done a little for Anglo-American relations. Good luck to you all, good shooting, and don't get overly paranoid about BG's ok?

;)

I envy you your normal life. :D Come on back when you get the chance, and if you ever want to go mountain lion hunting, the offer still stands.

Good luck!

Exam period is over and GF returned from Canada. Wait a minute, you should have been studying during examination period and you were here?

Anyway, drop in anytime.

Nice to have met you, so to speak.

Gunowners are not all rednecks; and rednecks are not at the bottom of the food chain. (They outrank child molesters, ambulance chasers, used car salesmen and liberals, just off the top of my head...)

We will be around somewhere when you return.

you've added a lot of insight to THR in your time here....
I hope the marks didn't suffer from that 'borrowed time':D

St Johns, no internet where you're going? Where are you? And the M-14 is fun to shoot, but it ain't no C1A1. The CF FN. Just ain't the same. Gotta agree withthe sights though. While I've never seen or heard of a C1A1 sight break, it just doesn't seem very strong. I'd still hump a C1A1 before I'd hump an M-14.
S'ok. See ya'll.
