Check this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3625663944&category=42577) out. I wonder what effect these would have on bow season? They might make for a interesting home defense. I'm sure they would leave a pretty nasty whole, I'm not sure how over penitration would be with these, but shot placement would be a must .:D

I can't think of a use for it, but I sure want one!

See specs on S&W Model 17-2.
Similar principle but hugely effective.

They have these in the Federal Arms Corp. catalog.

Can't think of much use for 'em, though. Wonder how accurate they are and what kind of velocity they get?

The OSS in WWII experimented with a steel bolt fired from a Government model that used a 32 acp cartridge as its propellant. The tail fins moved along the shaft, so they were in front of the muzzle prior to shooting and then moved back to the rear as it was fired.
I do not know if it was ever used in combat...but I reckon it might be useful for a frogman. And was a tad quieter than a .45 round. Slow to reload though.
This current incarnation...uses the shotgun primer because they save weight with the plastic 'bolts'. I am sure it is slow to reload too, and YEP, I cannot see alot of use for it...AND what if you need your .45 when it is so converted?
Interesting concept reborn.....but if anyone thinks of a use, let me know!

Strange, overly complex, impractical modification, or CSI episode looking for a place to happen, you be the judge!

I just might have to buy one of those for my Beretta, should be able to change the primer pretty quick with the open top slide.
It reminds me of miniature grappling hook pistols from saturday morning cartoons.

Grappling hook? Hmm.... now you're on to something.

I can feel the Batbelt already filling out.

Where's my Batarang? :D

Do they make one in .41 Rimfire for a Remington Double Derringer, so I can be cool like Robert Conrad was in The Wild, Wild West TV show?

Where's my Batarang? Don't forget the shark repellant. No Utility Belt is complete without Shark Repellent.

Pow.

Well, if you've got to jolt them with 50,000 volts, why not?

This is OLD technology. Dentists and Proctologists have been using devices like this for years!

Lightning speed? Hhmmm sounds fast. Hah. I'm holding out for the "Greased Lightning" model. :D

Does the Maryland model come with a spent shotgun primer in the box? :p
