Currently I'm about 2/3s of the way through writing "Foreign Enemies," the end of my Enemies trilogy. This section holds together pretty well on its own. It provides most of the background explanation behind the novel.

oh - and by the way - this one also makes me sick to my stomach, because it's only about one percent off from where we actually are....great story!

Wow.
Good stuff.
I've got a space saved next to the other two.
Thanks for the update...

Now get back to writing...;) :D (just kidding, of course)

I read about the first 40% of the last book: it is better by far than the first two...which were pretty decent already.

Matt, glad to hear it's coming along so well. Any idea on a publishing date? Just a ball park figure would be fine.

Oh yeah. Right.

Like I need a sneak preview to entice me into buying the third book.

Enough with the teasing already. Get your butt back to writing.

hmmmmmm!

book 1 yellow
book 2 red
book 3? I will guess green.

and hurry the heck up.

is the free Barrett 50BMG rifle offer with every book deal still on or has it expired? I know this was just for pre-orders made during Mrs Millers Third grade class in 1972 but I am pretty sure I had that in my order along with the James and the giant peach book.

Thanks for the sneak preview. Haven't gotten to reading it yet, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it just like the first two. Looking forward to it's release.

Excellent...time to go reread the first two books.

Now we're going to have to wait a year until it comes out. UGH!

Travis,

There's nothing in the Constitution that states there are 9 justices. In fact, FDR threatened to pack the court if SCOTUS didn't start agreeing with his policies. You may want to remove that part about the amendment to have 12 justices.

I did. I still know little about the book.
I'd like to read the little lead-in that inevitably comes on the back of paperbacks.
It does have one of those, doesn't it?
EDIT: Found them.

Sky blue, huh?

As in Tidy Bowl blue helmets?

Foreign enemies?

I can't wait, I've read the other two books twice each. Great stuff!

Yes indeed, as in sky blue helmets and berets. Invited in by our very own president.

You know, depending on the upcoming election results, I could actually see this happening.

If the election goes the wrong way, that is.

So can I, especially if the economy really tanks.

Sir, that is the most chilling thing I've ever read in my entire life. And I'm glad I read it. I shall have to buy your earlier books as well as this one when it hits the stores.
And I should really get myself a couple of rifles...I can see similar things happening here...

I've been obsessed with reading your excerpts for the past few days since reading this post. I am going to order your books now because I ran out and I'm hooked. Great idea with posting chapters out of the book, honestly I never would have considered buying the books if I didn't get hooked through the excerpts.

You know, the last chapter needs to be a gratuitious mishmash... An accountant turned action horror writer turns up... The tacticoolest of the tacticool finally gets his girr... Oleg photographs a woman who won't take her clothes off... You know... Milestone stuff...

I enjoyed the first two books, and I'm looking forward to # 3 just to get me totally angry again. Thank you for the sneak peek.

Matt, you've a great way of taking political and social realities as they are now and taking them to their worst-case but plausible conclusion. The below is a link to a recent article about Obama's "hidden" Socialist agenda. It fits right in with your themes. Where the devil are we headed, anyway? I'm glad I won't be here to see it, but I feel sad for my children and grandchildren.
