I was perusing the "equipment requirements" page at the Gunsite site and came across this little beauty:

Heavy duty serviceable handgun with good sights,a decent trigger & sharp edges removed- 9mm, 40mm, 45acp

I gotta get me one o' them 40mm handguns!

Link to actual page, for those doubters amongst you, is here. (http://www.gunsite.com/info/equipment.html)

I've been to Gunsite and it's a top notch facility. I'd bet dollars to doughnuts their non-firearms familiar webmaster made that mistake because I can't see an actual instructor letting something like that through. 40mm versus .40 cal is a pretty glaring mistake to make, especially when you're trying to sell any and every thing relating to top notch gun/training knowledge.

edited to add: I emailed them so they can fix this. I'd hate to see their image tarnished for any little thing and this error has already made it on to at least one major firearm forum.

Just received this via email. They're fixing it.

Thanks for the heads up, we'll get that taken care of right away.

I had a 40mm in the army, but we called it a grenade launcher, but it also had buck shot shells too. Not alot of range, but a 40mm round of buckshot would shred anything in front of you for about 30 ft

That's a common mistake, it should read ".40mm"

Wait, that's not right, either...

They must be reading THR because it's been corrected.

I'm still wondering about the "sharp edges removed." Does this mean no CZ's with bayonets?

I suppose the 40mm would be a pistol version of Cooper's 'Thumper' rifle. Nice.

No, 40mm is a Bofors AA gun... typically mounted in duallies or quads in WWII, although singles were common for army use.

You find a way to pistolize one of these bad-boys, I'm gonna be real surprised...

Nope. Guess you missed the part where I emailed them and posted their response. Re-visit posts #3 and 4.
