I think it's time the world recognized that countries that prevent its citizens from owning firearms are guilty of human rights violations.

I always like it when a country that purposely starved to death 20+ MILLION of their own citizens complains about human rights violations by the US.

Some things actually do trump human rights. If we are waging war against an enemy nation, we put our sovereignty above their rights.
However, this does not mean we can ignore the basic tennants of human decency - I think we generally treat the people we defeat in a war better than any nation in history.

I'm saying that a country that prevents its own citizens from possessing firearms is just as much a human rights violator as a country that prevents its own citizens from criticizing the government.
My complaint is that a lot of self-righteous groups or countries that complain about other countries human rights violations are themselves guilty of human rights violations when they deprive their citizens of self-determination by reserving firearms exclusively for the government.
