I would be interested to know the general price differential between a pre 1994 fully automatic black rifle and it's same semi-automatic counterpart produced after 1994. If someone could give some general information and perhaps list a couple of examples, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

The date you are looking at is 1986. After 1986 no new machine guns have been able to be registered.

You are currently looking at around an order of magnitude difference in cost. Examples Colt Ar-15 postban ~1100, Colt transferable M16 11,000.
It varies a bit. Ruger Mini-14 ~450, Ruger AC-556 3600.

The cheapest differential betwen an assault rifle and it's semi-auto counterpart that I've found is an FN FNC. A full-auto version goes for around $5-6k, a semi-auto for around $2.5k. All semi-auto FNCs are pre-ban, so that's why they're so expensive.

CleverNickname, I've heard, though unsure about the accuracy, that there are as many registered autosears for the FNC as there are FNCs in the country. What do you know?

That's the story. S&H (a class 2 manufacturer) supposedly registered a whole load of sears before the '86 ban. However, S&H isn't taking any new work right now. Something about a court case against a former partner... I don't know the whole story. Anyway, I'm on their waiting list and am (im)patiently biding my time.

Or you could become a Class III dealer or a Class II manufacturer (even better deal) and get brand new full autos (post dealer samples, etc) for a few hundred bucks to a couple thousand for the really expensive stuff.
