If one throws a Surefire M900 (the foregrip taclight which attaches to a rail) onto a postban carbine with a thumbhole stock, is that a no-no? For some reason, I read somewhere () that the BATFE is interpreting thumbhole stocks as pistol grip stocks?

And are the lights considered foregrips, or can one throw one on a carbine with a pistol grip, or is that a no-no?

THere is no reference in the awb to Foregrips on longarms so it would be legal. There is an issue with pistols with foregrips in the pistol portion of the legislation. I am don't have my copy handy so I can't list the text of the actual legislation.
