I am interested in what a wichester model 24 12ga SXS would be worth I recently inhereted one and would like to know. I would NEVER even think of selling it but I'm just curious. It's at least 60 years old because my grandfather used it pheasant hunting when he was in the 3rd grade gun was bigger than him:D his sholder was black and blue at the end of the day. Its in fair condition its got scratches, he put one a buttpad(leather with lace up side) and NAILED it in on the end with a horseshoe nail for some reason:confused:. He wasn't exactly famous for taking care of his guns but it's a winchester come on short of setting it on fire it's industructable:D.
Any history one the gun would also be apreciated. I might post pictures later I still haven't actually got time to go pick up the gun yet but I will soon.:o

Oh and also I was wondering if I can fire modern loads in it. If not what can I fire in it.

All lead 2 3/4" loads will work in your 24. Unless marked for 3", stay away from the magnum loads and non toxic shot like steel or tungsten alloys.

The 24 was a fairly plain but well made SxS without the cachet and price tag of the 21 or 23.

Dunno about price. For insurance purposes, my WEG is $500.
