Do you have any experience with the SW1911 pistol? Is it durable/reliable and how does it compare against some Europian made pistols like CZ-75, HK, SIG etc.?

I have one and it is very durable and reliable. How does it compare to the guns you mentioned? Well it doesn't the guns you mentioned are not 1911's. I will say it does compare to any well made production 1911 out there. I really like mine and it will shoot as good if not better than my other 1911's.

Will be a nice pistol when has proper extractor . I will say S&W seems to have made theirs work. But I want the correct one in my 1911's I will buy one when they change that.

Of course S&W made it work, they have only been making external extractor autos since the 50s.

They are not the only ones that have built external extractor gun that work.

I have a basic, all stainless steel 5" Smith & Wesson 1911 as well; with
Novak three-dot sights, and rubber grips (see product code #108282(.
Its the 1911 of choice, each time I go to the range; leaving behind my
much more expensive ($1895.00) Les Baer TRS~! I would recommend
the S&W too anyone, regardless of the external extractor. :scrutiny: ;)

I have the same #108282 as Ala Dan. I haven't had any problems
but I know S&W offers great customer service - sent in a 625 and they
fixed an extraction problem - 3 weeks total time away. Anyway,
the SW1911 #108282 had an msrp of $1,050 approx. last
October when I got it, online w/S&H & Transfer for $765
Great features:
Novak low mount 3 white dot "carry" fixed sights
Beavertail grip safety
Cmdr style skletonized hammer
long three hole trigger
beveled mag. well opening
Great fit & Finish

I swapped out eh stock MSH for a Les Baer
flat serrated stainless steel MSH, as well as a Wilson
Combat extended slide release/lock. Added a
pair of Guy Hogue smooth Rosewood grips.

After 500 rds, had a gunsmith give it a professional
cleaning and he polished up the slide & rails - trigger is
getting smooth - It's now at 800 rds, feeds every kind
of hollowpoint and I don't know what the problem some
have with an external extractor, it's spring loaded and
doesn't require 'tuning' llike internal extractors, and it's
NEVER failed to eject empty cases.

I use Wilson Combat ETM mags, the ACT mags that come
wtih the S&W 1911 have weak springs and a poorly
designed follower ime.
