TACTICAL TO PRACTICAL is a new one-hour program from The History Channel that explores innovations developed for combat that have evolved into useful tools for civilian life. (http://www.historychannel.com/global/listings/series_showcase.jsp?EGrpType=Series&Id=8826020&NetwCode=THC)

Show debuts Tuesday at 9:00 PM EST/PST. From looking at that picture not sure how "PRACTICAL" it really is. I'm gonna check it out for the heck of it though :)

I think those are called mattracks. The idea is to improve mobility over snow and off road. Tires are only good for so much you know.

Do you suppose anything on that show will be gun related? (No need to thank me for keeping the topic unlocked;) ) I'm trying to think of things that could be. Looking at the link leads me to believe they consider LE use practical rather than tactical, so there is some hope there.

Thanks to Gilbert Godfrey, we already know the AK-47 bubble-jet won't be on the show. :(
