Mounting a red dot to my super redhawk, tips for secure mounting?

I've heard of scopes moving around on high recoil handguns like the .44 mag. Any tips to ensure that my millet red dot stays in place with the ruger rings? I've heard of using a little nail polish on the inside of the scope rings, and/or butting the turret against the rear ring. I'll have to look and see if that would work when my scope shows up. Any other ideas? I want to be safe and sure that I don't over tighten the rings and damage the scope tube either. I've only mounted one or two rifle scopes in my day (probably not properly), and never anything on a handgun.

I had a .44 redhawk and scoped it. Solved movement problems by:
(1)Dressing down the flats of the Ruger rings so they didn't come together when tightened, and
(2) adding "Shoe Goo" inside the rings. It holds tightly but stays a little 'rubbery'. Not impossible to remove either.
Worked for me and LOTS of HEAVY loads through the gun.
