Should I assume things are better today (Saturday)?

It still pauses on me and I have to click twice occasionally. I've had a timeout error once this evening. However, overall things are much better.

Mostly fast from here.
A few timeouts...
But a heck of an improvement so far.

Fingers crossed:D

Huge improvement Derek - thank you very much. It's still not like it was a few weeks ago, but the difference is like night and day compared to what it has been for the last week. I'm still getting a few timeouts and incomplete page loads.

Tinkered once more, and again, I'm crossing my fingers. Lemme know if it's better or worse on Sunday than it was on Saturday.

It's still about the same as yesterday. I started out this session with two timeouts before the main index page came up. I'm still seeing incomplete page loading. The first 95% of a page now loads rapidly then the remainder can take several minutes to download if I don't hit Stop sooner. Usually there's about 5 or 6 items/button graphics/icons left to download when the load process comes to a screeching halt.

9/10 pages load normally - much better now for me, still something going on - this post timed out first attempt. :(

Sometimes it works well, other times I have to click several times. I get about a 7/3 sucess rate.

Make that 6/4.

FWIW, individual threads seem to be slower than they used to be, but opening each forum is normal.

Monday, 1320 MST, last hour or so have to nearly always try 2-4 times to shift forums, open threads, post etc. Page load seems good once I do connect. Dialup, indicating 52K.

Same here. You've gotta look outside the box that is THR. Something's wrong from the firewall out. It hasn't truly been working right for well over a week now. Some hours have been better than others, but it's not fixed.

Some hours have been better than others, but it's not fixedAny chance you could make notes that might give me a feel as to when it's screwing up, and when it's looking good?

I'll need more ammo to throw at my ISP. Everything still looks good from within the local network.

DZ 19:16 CDT "Page Cannot Be Displayed" from within forum. Stop + reload and things were normal. I keep comming up with this as a good place to look XXXgige11-0.ipcolo1.Dallas1.Level3.netXXX for problems.

Derek .... appreciate you have been busy trying to improve things but .... apart from a few ''flashes'' of seeming ''old days'' ... broadly, it is still getting bad hiccups!! I am sympathetic ... have had probs on site i run and it has been difficult to get things sorted.

Let's see ...... I frequently double click an email notification link to bring up latest post .... that often goes to error 404 ... a refresh may work but .... seems more often I have to remove the ''&goto=newpost'' at end of URL ..... that seems to help a bit.

Waiting for ''reply.php'' to do its thing is still tedious .... all header graphics appear and then .... long wait. Watching data transfer activity ... long gaps on incoming data ........ seems like server is overloaded.

Sometimes too ... go from a link in ''view new posts'' ...... and get immediate error 404 .... a refresh often does get me there second time. Now and again ... a link just will NOT take ... repeated error 404 and so I have to abort.

All in all .. from here ......... it's still mega frustrating, when not so long ago the speed kicked a$$...... I mean really ... this was fastest site in the universe!!

P95Carry brings up a good point I have also noticed related to the &goto=.
When I try a goto=lastpost or goto=newpost, it almost never gets there, i.e., it timeouts. Sometimes it eventually works but is very slow. But if I go directly to the thread (no goto), it will often start the thread display immediately, maybe a timeout only every 5 or 6 times.

Derek .....

Well, something has helped - today at least so far ...... had a few errors but broadly - way quicker today .... much more like ''old days''. I think main prob was use of links from email notifications .... but way better.

Hope it'll last.:)
